TRAVIS CLARDY
Attorney

OVERVIEW

Travis P. Clardy has more than 30 years of experience in civil litigation. Mr. Clardy's practice involves civil litigation at the state and federal levels in a broad range of commercial matters, including employment law, environmental law, trucking litigation, insurance litigation, product liability litigation and commercial litigation. He represents individuals, private business interests and Fortune 500 companies, as well as provides business and corporate counsel.

In addition to his law practice, Mr. Clardy serves as State Representative for Texas House District 11, which covers Nacogdoches, Newton, Panola, Rusk, Sabine, and Shelby counties. On the Texas House's Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee, he worked to ensure that local municipalities cannot overregulate gun store owners. As a member of the Human Services Committee, he worked with his colleagues to streamline and reduce regulations on long-term care facilities. Mr. Clardy has been recognized for his work to facilitate prosecution of criminals who manufacture and sell dangerous synthetic drugs, as well as his support of law enforcement, rural healthcare and protecting Constitutional rights. In addition, Mr. Clardy authored omnibus legislation encouraging the development of hotel and convention centers throughout Texas through the local use of hotel occupancy taxes.

Prior to operating Clardy Law Offices with his sons, Mr. Clardy has been engaged in the practice of law as a sole practitioner, a partner in a prominent East Texas litigation firm, as an owner of title companies, and, most recently, as the partner in charge of the Nacogdoches-based East Texas office of a major regional law firm.

CLAIRE GILMORE
Paralegal

OVERVIEW
Claire was not born in Nacogdoches but spent a large amount of her childhood growing up in the Oldest Town. After graduating from Nacogdoches High School, Claire attended Stephen F. Austin State University before she and her horse Nomad transferred to The University of Texas at Austin.  Because UT did not offer a degree related to her passion (Messin’ With Horses) Claire earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music, which most closely resembled her second passion – Band Geek.

Following graduation, Claire embarked on a sub-lucrative career answering phones and working retail around Austin.  It became clear that this career path would not support her horse habit, so Claire went back to school and completed the Legal Assistant Certificate Program at The University of Texas at Austin.

In 1994, Claire and Nomad returned to Nacogdoches so they could spend more time together.  Pursuant to the Law of Proximity (not a real law), Claire started working with Travis because she was nearby.  She has known Gus and John since she was taller than they were, and has watched them grow in both height and personhood for nearly 30 years.  Claire is extremely proud of “The Boys” and the men, dads, and attorneys they have become.

When she’s not working, Claire enjoys the very good friends she has made at her various life stops, giving thanks for her good fortune, and, of course, messin’ with horses.
