Jefferson B. Davis
Jefferson Barclay Davis is a sixth generation Nacogdochian. Mr. Davis is a graduate of Nacogdoches High School, attended Stephen F. Austin State University and received his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University. Following graduation, Mr. Davis worked at the Texas Legislature for the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Texas State Senate. He also worked under Lt. Gov. Bob Bullock and was the Legislative Assistant for the Texas State Senator serving Senate District 3. Mr. Davis attended Texas Tech University School of Law where he served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Barristers while earning a Doctorate of Jurisprudence. Mr. Davis returned to Nacogdoches and practiced in civil litigation ranging from toxic tort matters to business litigation. When his father, Bryan Holt Davis, retired after 35 years as Nacogdoches County Attorney, Mr. Davis ran for and was elected as County Attorney. After serving two terms, Mr. Davis made the difficult decision to not seek reelection. Mr. Davis returned to private practice as a partner in the law firm of Clardy Davis & Knowles in January 2009.

Bryan Holt Davis
Bryan H. Davis, Jr. joins our firm as distinguished "of Counsel" and brings with him the experience and knowledge gained by serving and living in Nacogdoches his entire life. Mr. Davis was born in Nacogdoches, Texas to a family whose roots grow eight generations deep. He graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1953 and received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. Upon completing his education, Mr. Davis returned to Nacogdoches and began the practice of law in addition to assisting his father in the operation of his insurance and real estate operations. Mr. Davis was elected Nacogdoches County Attorney in 1966 and remained in that position until his retirement 35 years later.
Throughout the years Mr. Davis has been active in the Nacogdoches community by being a member or holding office in many organizations including the Nacogdoches County Bar Association, Nacogdoches Rotary Club, Nacogdoches Booster Club, Nacogdoches Horse Show Association, Nacogdoches Community Concerts Association, Old Nacogdoches University, Historic Nacogdoches, Inc., Texas Bar Association, Texas Bar Foundation, Phi Delta Theta fraternity and the Sons of the Republic of Texas.
Mr. Davis married Carolyn Richey Davis in 1963 and they have two sons and two grandchildren, all of whom live within earshot, much to their delight. In addition to his family, which is his greatest joy, Mr. Davis enjoys reading, gardening and traveling with his wife.
